GOAT music director Yuvan Shankar Raja took to Twitter to express his gratitude to the makers of the film. He wrote, "Thank you so much for the love  guys. I thank @Ags_production Archana, Aishwarya, Agoram sir for giving me this opportunity to show my love for our Thalapathy @actorvijay na and of course this wouldn't have happened without my favorite brother @vp_offl. #TheGreatestOfAllTime."

Siva Karthikeyan watched the first day first show of Vijay's GOAT. Amaran trailer was also shown. 

Vijay's GOAT got a blockbuster opening in North America as it earned $1.2 million from premieres on Wednesday, as per Cinetrak. The film is expected to earn $5 million in the first weekend in the region. The premiere performance makes GOAT the third highest-grossing Tamil film in the USA when it comes to premieres, ahead of Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan 1 ($1.1 million) but behind Rajinikanth's Kabali ($1.92 million) and Vijay's Leo ($1.86 million).

Vijay's GOAT released to a largely mixed reviews on September 5. The film's OTT release will happen on Netflix. While it is not clear when it will release, films usually come out on OTT platforms after a 4-week window. 

Director Venkat Prabhu thanked Ajith as he wished the team for the success of Vijay's GOAT. "Thank q #Thala #AK my anna for the first wish for @actorvijay  na, me and team #GOAT we all love u????," Prabhu wrote. 

GOAT morning shows saw a 69.74% occupancy and the film has earned over Rs 11 crore till 11 in the morning. GOAT is a non-holiday release but is looking at an extended weekend business. The film has received mixed reviews.

As Vijay's GOAT (Greatest of All Time) releases, some goat puns were to be expected. Cool Suresh, however, did one better as he came to the film's screening with a goat. While he posed with the animal and answered questions, what fans want to know is whether the duo got to watch the screening. 

Vijay's GOAT has been made at a massive budget and needs to post big profits as well to be deemed a hit. As per Koimoi, the film -- with rs 400 crore budget -- has already earned a neat sum by selling its rights. Now, it needs to do a business of at least Rs 374 crores to breakeven at the box office. What comes after this will be profit earned by the Thalapathy Vijay film.

Vijay's GOAT is expected to make records at the box office. However, before that, the film has made records as its overseas rights were sold for a massive Rs 53 crores. This was the third-highest deal in the international circuits for a Tamil film after Leo (rs 66 crores) and Thuglife (Rs 63 crores), as per Koimoi. The theatrical rights in India are valued around Rs 134 crores, as per Track Tollywood. Makers expect Tamil Nadu to contributes 56% of the traffic, with the rest coming from Telanga, Andhra Pradesh, and Kerala.

Thalapathy Vijay will continue with his streak at the box office with GOAT, The Greatest of All Time. Ahead of its release, the film crossed 50 crores in advance booking collection worldwide. This makes GOAT his second successive film to score this pre-sale record after Leo (2023). According to trade aggregator Sacnilk, while GOAT domestic box office stands at Rs 30 crores gross, its overseas box office is around Rs 32 crores for the opening day. GOAT box office collection day 1 will be above Rs 100 crores. For context, Leo earned Rs 142 crores worldwide on its opening day.

We can finally confirm the massive budget of Thalapathy Vijay's GOAT. The film's producer, AGS Entertainment’s Archana Kalpathi, revealed that the film has been made at the cost of Rs 400 crore and they are confident of recovering the cost purely from box office. “We have spent Rs 400 crore for GOAT, including GST. Our production house doesn’t factor in the money that comes from OTT, satellite, and other language rights. We believe a film should recover the costs, and more, during its theatrical run,” she said ahead of film's release.

After a 4 am release in some states in India, Vijay fans are showering love on GOAT. The early reviews of Vijay's The Greatest of All Time call it 'a blockbuster'. Film analyst Sreedhar Pillai wrote, "#GOATReview : A pucca adrenaline pumping action commercial wholesome entertainer from Thalapathy Vijay."

Renowned film trade analyst Taran Adarsh on Wednesday night opined that director Venkat Prabhu’s sci-fi action film The Greatest of All Time (GOAT), starring “Thalapathy” Vijay in the lead role, is living up to its title with "phenomenal" advance bookings. After director Lokesh Kanagaraj, production and distribution company Seven Screen Studio, led by SS Lalit Kumar, has also offered its best wishes to “Thalapathy” Vijay and his new film The Greatest of All Time (GOAT). The Hindi version of director Venkat Prabhu’s sci-fi action film GOAT has encountered the issue of multiplexes not signing on the dotted line. Noted film analyst Taran Adarsh stated, “No Hindi release at national chains. The Hindi version of GOAT, starring Thalapathy Vijay, is not releasing in the national chains like PVR, INOX, and Cinepolis, in North India.” He explained that the national chains require all new Hindi films to maintain an 8-week gap between their theatrical release and their premiere on OTT platforms, leading to a breakdown in the agreement between the makers and the multiplexes.

"GOAT will open in 500+ theatres in the US, 200+ in the UK, and 350+ in the rest of Europe. We are also releasing the film in 18 countries in the African continent, including Zambia, Ghana, Senegal, Uganda, and Botswana. We are also planning a massive release in the Philippines, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Australia, Japan, and New Zealand. On its opening day, GOAT will be featured in over 4,000 screenings across more than 700 screens in Kerala.
