Dhanush’s father Kasthuri Raja tears into Nayanthara, dubs her claims as false: ‘No time to answer those who talk about us behind our backs’
Dhanush's father, director Kasthuri Raja, has stepped forward and reacted to the controversy while dubbing Nayanthara's claims as false.

The Nayanthara vs Dhanush rift has already snowballed into a massive controversy, with many of their colleagues taking sides and expressing support for the person they believe is in the right. The dispute came to light when Nayanthara posted an open letter on social media, accusing Dhanush of refusing to grant permission for clips from his production venture Naanum Rowdy Dhaan to be used in her documentary. Nayanthara, who played the female lead in the film, and her now-husband, Naanum Rowdy Dhaan’s director Vignesh Shivan, fell in love on its sets. She also claimed that Dhanush demanded Rs 10 crore as compensation for including a three-second BTS clip in the documentary, titled Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairy Tale.
Now, Dhanush’s father, director Kasthuri Raja, has stepped forward and reacted to the controversy. Dubbing Nayanthara’s claims that she had chased Dhanush for a no-objection certificate (NOC) to use elements from the film as false, he emphasised that neither he nor his son had time to respond to those speaking behind their backs. “Work is important to us. We are running ahead. There is no time to answer those who chase us or those who talk about us behind our backs. Like me, my son is focused only on work. As Nayanthara said, waiting for two years is not true information. He said I don’t want to talk about it,” Times of India’s Tamil portral Samayam quoted him as saying.
In a long letter posted on social media on Saturday, Nayanthara claimed that Dhanush was holding a personal grudge against her and Vignesh Shivan. She also criticised his demand for Rs 10 crore for using a three-second clip from Naanum Rowdy Dhaan in her Netflix documentary Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairy Tale. Dhanush has not yet responded to the letter. The documentary was released on November 18, coinciding with Nayanthara’s 40th birthday.
In his review of the documentary, SCREEN’s Avinash Ramachandran wrote, “In more ways than one, this is more a movie than a documentary because everything is staged to too much perfection, and turns into something real very rarely, but is beautiful when it does.”
