Coolie vs War 2 box office collection: Rajinikanth film powerbombs Hrithik Roshan-Jr NTR’s spy actioner

Coolie has been performing strongly at the domestic box office with steady returns over the Independence Day weekend. After opening to a massive Rs 65 crore nett on day one, the film collected Rs 54.75 crore on Friday, followed by Rs 39.5 crore on Saturday and Rs 35.25 crore on Sunday. With Monday’s earnings of Rs 12 crore, Coolie has now surpassed the Rs 200 crore mark in India.

Meanwhile, War 2 finds itself chasing Coolie Rajinikanth-starrer Coolie at the box office. The YRF-backed spy thriller raked in Rs 52 crore on Thursday, Rs 57.35 crore on Friday, Rs 33.25 crore on Saturday, and Rs 32.15 crore on Sunday. With Monday’s earning of Rs 8.75 crore, the film’s total domestic collection stands at Rs 183.5 crore.

Coolie vs War 2 box office collection worldwide

Coolie’s performance in the global market, particularly in North America and Canada, has been nothing short of phenomenal. The Rajinikanth-starrer has already raked in Rs 404 crore worldwide, according to its makers. War 2, meanwhile, is slowly recovering from its sluggish start. As per Yash Raj Films, War sequel’s worldwide collection currently stands at Rs 300.50 crore.

War 2 has reportedly been made on a staggering budget of Rs 400 crore, making it one of Yash Raj Films’ most expensive productions to date. The globetrotting spy adventure, directed by Ayan Mukerji, was shot across multiple countries and leans heavily on CGI and visual effects. It opened on a massive 5,000 screens nationwide—an aggressive release strategy by YRF, which positioned the film as a full-scale event, in contrast to many of their earlier films that expanded screen count gradually through positive word of mouth

Coolie released across 1,980 screens in India and simultaneously in over 100 countries worldwide. Mounted on an estimated budget of Rs 350 crore, the Rajinikanth-starrer is already inching toward breakeven.
