Bigg Boss Tamil Season 9 Contestants List 2025: With Tamil star Vijay Sethupathi set to return as the host for the second consecutive year, all eyes are currently on Bigg Boss Tamil Season 9, which will kick off in style on Sunday, October 5. As the opening ceremony draws closer, fans of the reality show are busy wondering who the contestants will be this time. Although the complete list of participants will be officially announced only during the premiere event, scheduled to begin at 5 pm, reports have already surfaced predicting the potential contestants. According to the Times of India, buzz is building around actor and television star Kani Thiru, who may be stepping into the Bigg Boss house this season. Renowned for winning the cooking reality show Cooku with Comali Season 2, she also appeared in the drama thriller series Parachute in a key role. The daughter of director Agathiyan, she is married to filmmaker Thiru. Her sisters, Vijayalakshmi Feroz and Niranjani Ahathian, are also celebrities. Director Praveen Gandhi — renowned for helming movies like Nagarjuna and Sushmita Sen's Ratchagan (1997), Prashanth and Simran's Jodi (1999), and Prashanth and Jyothika's Star (2001) — is also reportedly among the rumoured contestants for this season of the show. Orator and entrepreneur Kongu Manjunathan and television actor Vinoth Babu — known for his performances in soap operas like Sundari Neeyum Sundaran Naanum and Thendral Vandhu Ennai Thodum, as well as for being the winner of reality shows Mr and Mrs Chinnathirai Season 2 and Start Music Season 4 — are also among those reported to have received a pass to enter the house. Although there's no confirmation yet, social media sensation "Watermelon Star" Diwakar, model Apsara CJ, and actors Praveen Devasagayam, Subiksha Krishnan, and FJ alias Adisayam are also in the running to join Bigg Boss Tamil Season 9 as contestants. While Kamal Haasan served as the host of Bigg Boss Tamil for its first seven seasons, he stepped down in 2024 after the conclusion of Season 7. Vijay Sethupathi replaced the Tamil legend for the last edition, and he became a fan favourite almost instantly, which is why he was brought back for Season 9 as well. Fans can catch the opening ceremony of the show on Vijay Television or JioHotstar.
