Anjali Menon of Bangalore Days fame to direct Tamil film KRG07

Anjali Menon, despite being a Malayalam filmmaker, has a huge fan following in Tamil Nadu, who will rejoice as the director is helming a Tamil film.

Director Anjali Menon, known for movies such as Bangalore Days and Koode, announced a Tamil film, tentatively tiled KRG07, on Tuesday. Menon will collaborate with Karnataka-based production house KRG Studios for the movie.

Expressing her vision for creating cinema that is both entertaining and thought-provoking, Menon emphasized the significance of this collaboration.

“I am excited about joining forces with KRG Studios as we are united in our mission to produce compelling films rooted in our cultures while upholding world-class production standards,” Anjali Menon said in a statement to PTI.

Anjali Menon already has a decent fan following in Tamil Nadu as she is known in the state for her Malayalam film Bangalore Days, which was later remade as Bangalore Naatkal in Tamil.

Anjali made her debut by directing a segment in the Kerala Cafe anthology. She later helmed films like Manjadikuru, Bangalore Days and Koode. Her last film Wonder Woman didn’t find many takers. However, she continues to be an important voice in Malayalam cinema.

Karthik Gowda, the producer and co-founder of KRG Studios, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration with Anjali Menon. “Our partnership with Anjali Menon marks a significant milestone for KRG, underscoring our commitment to crafting narratives that resonate across diverse audiences and languages,” Gowda said.
