Shiva Rajkumar undergoes surgery in US to remove cancerous bladder; family says, ‘He is now in a stable condition’
Kannada actor Shiva Rajkumar underwent a surgery to remove a cancerous bladder, and is now in a stable condition.

Kannada film actor Shiva Rajkumar underwent surgery in the US to remove a cancerous bladder on Wednesday. The surgery was successful, and he is now stable and recovering well, as per the statement by his family and doctors. According to Dr Murugesh Manoharan, an artificial bladder was made using Shiva’s intestine, and he is currently doing fine.
The doctor said, “We are pleased to share an update regarding Shiva Rajkumar’s recent medical procedure. The surgery, performed earlier today, was successful, and we are glad to report that Shiva Rajkumar is now in stable condition and recovering well (sic).” In addition, his family also confirmed that the “surgery was performed earlier on Wednesday. was successful and we are glad to report that Shivarajkumar is now in stable condition and recovering well.”

Currently, the Janumada Jodi actor is kept under observation and is receiving exceptional care from a dedicated team of highly skilled doctors and medical staff, as per a statement from his family. Before heading to the United States, an overwhelmed Shiva Rajkumar expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the continued love and support he had received from his fans.
In an earlier interview, Shiva Rajkumar had revealed that he is ‘undergoing treatment’, but hadn’t shared the exact details about his illness. He had said, “I am also a human being, and I have a problem. It has come, and I am taking treatment for it. I have about four sessions of treatment to complete.”
On the work front, Shivarajkumar was last seen in the film Bhairathi Ranagal, which was a prequel to the 2018 hit Mufti. The highly-anticipated Kannada movie hit the theatres on November 15, 2024. While promoting the film, the actor had shared that his producers and directors knew about his condition and said that he decided to go public to avoid misunderstandings and prevent rumours. “I also panicked when I first learned about it, and I don’t want people to worry. After that, I gained the confidence to face it. Now, it’s getting better. There is no need to worry,” he added.
