Composers: Krsna, Arko Pravo Mukherjee
Lyrics: Puneet Sharma, Ikka Singh, Intense
But, it’s not worse than the remix of Pyar mein dil pe by Bappi Lahiri. One wonders why they couldn’t spare R.D. Burman’s original composition by Asha Bhonsle and Kishore Kumar. Those who have not heard the original track will soon begin loathing this heady track. The lyrics too have been changed by Puneet Sharma. The rendition of the track by DJ Shilpa is even worse. The last thing the saucy number needed was a disco mix. The rendition by DJ Khushi attempts to be different with gun shots et al, but sadly, nothing compares to the original. The song may just catch on with those who like remixes.
There’s also In da club for those looking for Punjabi rap. This track is about an intoxicated lad, determined to woo one of the women at a nightclub. Ikka Singh has sung, and co-written the lyrics along Intense, a composer from Canada. This song is far too blaring for a rap number to the extent that Pyar mein dil pe... becomes a comparatively better number to listen. There’s also the syrupy Dildara by Sonu Nigam that is a tad too sentimental, but pleasant. If only Sonu Nigam could consistently sing in the same pitch.
If you want to listen to some remixes and some Punjabi rap, Tamanchey‘s music is worth checking out.
