Sonali Cable, a film that is written and directed by Charudutt Acharya (he has written the dialogues of Dum Maro Dum and the screenplay of Nautanki Saala) and produced by Ramesh Sippy, Rohan Sippy, Roopa de Choudhury and Kamia Mulhotra under the banner Ramesh Sippy Entertainment in association with BombayMania Production Pvt. Ltd. is slated for an October 10 2014 release.
The film stars Anupam Kher, Smita Jaykar, Rhea Chakraborty, Ali Fazal and others is a classic David vs Goliath story set in the underbelly of the broadband war in Mumbai. It is an edgy survival drama of a spunky young girl from Mumbai, Sonali, who puts her love, life and survival at stake when she and her ragtag family of internet cable technicians come in the way of the expansion plans of India’s largest corporation.
