Yet another actress to join the growing list of actors who are lending their voice to songs in films is Soha Ali Khan. The actress who plays an NRI girl in the film Chaarfutiya Chhokare, has rendered a couplet of Rabindranath Tagore’s poetry with which the story unfolds and also ends with the verse. Directed by Manish Harishankar, the story deals with child education and exploitation.
Excited at the prospect of singing a Rabindra verse, Soha says, “For me it’s an honour to read something written by Rabindranath Tagore. His writings are like anthem to us. In fact, there is also a song Vidya ki parasmani written by Tagore. Initially, I was supposed to recite it, but due to time constraint, Vibha Khosla sang this prayer. I wanted to read something and when they gave me the option, I immediately grabbed it,” says Soha.
The verse that the actor sings in the film is:
bacche bhee insaan hain,.

woh badon se zyaada komal

aur sacche hain..

jinke chaaron oor banavateepan

ki koi diwaar naheen.

unke sanrakshan aur vikas ke liye

zaroorat hai.

na sirf unhe school mein shiksha mile.

balkee saath saath ek aisi duniya mile.

jahaan pyaar ho, sneh ho…

The film releases worldwide on September 26.
