Shashanka Ghosh likely to direct Battle For Bittora

Shashanka Ghosh, who directed Khoobsurat for Anil Kapoor’s production house, is most likely to direct another project, Battle for Bittora for the company. An adaptation of Anuja Chauhan’s novel, (the rights of which have been bought by the company), the film is about a young girl (to be played by Sonam Kapoor) who, on her grandmother’s insistence, contests the Lok Sabha elections where she meets another contestant, an ex-royal.
“Yes, Rhea and I are in talks about working on Battle For Bittora and I am hoping to direct it. I read the book about four to five years back. Earlier Abhinay Deo had been approached to direct the film. I told Rhea (Kapoor, producer) if he didn’t take it up, I would like to give it a shot. I think at some point Abhinay could not do it, so now Rhea and I are talking about how to go ahead,” said Ghosh.
We contacted Rhea Kapoor to confirm whether Fawad Khan, who played the lead in Khoobsurat, is likely to play the lead in Battle For Bittora also, but she did not revert to our message.
