When it is a David Dhawan film, the mood most necessarily has to be full of fun, masti and youthful energy. Not only are these elements reflected in his films, they were in evidence during the music launch of Main Tera Hero, at Inorbit Mall in Mumbai. The excitement among the crowd of shoppers, mostly comprising of young college kids, was palpable as they chorused Varun Dhawan’s name when he vroomed on the stage on a bike. He introduced his character, in the film called Shrenath Prasad,as a complete menace to the 15 odd schools he was sent to. “I was expelled from 15 schools and jab mein sher choda toh saare sher wale mujhe bidaai dene aagaye!” says Dhawan much to the amusement of the audience.
He set the evening rolling as he performed to the popular track Palat-Tera hero idhar hai, from the film. While Ileana D’Cruz could not make it for the event, Nargis Fakhri stepped on stage and joined him. Next, Dhawan performed to another number from the film, Galat baat with dancer Gulnaaz, whom he called an ace performer, while Fakhri stood at the forestage applauding and whistling at the performance.
With lyrics penned by Kumaar and set to the tune of music directors Sajid-Wajid, who have worked with the director in his earlier films Mujhse Shaadi Karongi, Partner and Chashme Buddoor, told the gathering that when they were signed for this film, Dhawan had specifically asked them to compose a different tune. The duo also coaxed Dhawan to croon the peppy, hot number, Shanivar raati mujhe neend nahi aati, along with them.
When it came to Besharmi ki height, Dhawan had to only mention that he will dance with his fans and a bevy of young girls stormed the stage all eager to shake a leg with their heart throb. Dhawan, let the enthusiastic performers take centre stage while he and Fakhri stood at the sidelines, cheering them on.
The music album of Main Tera Hero was unveiled by T-Series, Bhushan Kumar and Ekta Kapoor, who has produced the film under the banner Balaji Motion Pictures. On the occasion, David Dhawan said, “I have made several films in my career, but this one is the best that I have made for my son, Varun. This is payback time for me and I have enjoyed the journey while making this film.”
However, the best act was yet to come, and the director was coaxed to shake a leg with Fakhri. which he did rather sportingly, bringing the curtains down to an enjoyable evening.
