Contrary to reports that appeared in a section of the press, director Hansal Mehta denies being in talks with author Jeffrey Archer for his novel Kane and Abel. “The news about me making a film on Jeffrey Archer’s novel Kane and Abel is false. It is just a speculative piece of news. I had done a TV show Lakshya in 1999 for Zee TV, whose idea was loosely based on the book. Some reporter has used that information. I am hopeful that one day I will be able to make a film on the novel,” says Mehta.
The film-maker is currently working on several scripts and mentions that he will begin shooting once he finalises a script. “Saraansh is one of them. The actors will be finalised after I lock my script,” says Mehta.
