There was healthy competition between Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif, while filming the peppy title track of Bang Bang

For choreographer Bosco it was smooth sailing when shooting the title track of Bang Bang, that will showcase two good-looking people romancing. He attributes it to the fact that both Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif are fantastic dancers. “Since both are so good, each puts in his best to outdo the other. And healthy competition like this has some fantastic results,” said Bosco.
Part of the lavish club number, which was shot over three days in Mumbai’s Film City Studios, has Roshan playing a tribute to Michael Jackson, while a part shows Kaif gliding on the floor in slow motion.
“Hrithik didn’t give more than three or four takes for a shot because of his knee injury, but he is a perfectionist and generally gets the step right in the first take itself. In fact, the MJ moves were canned in the first take,” said Bosco.
On the other hand, Katrina who is tall and supple, is excellent when it comes to free style movements. “She knows exactly what looks good on her, so she listens to the music and goes with the flow in a graceful manner,” says the choreographer.
Talking about pulling off Michael Jackson’s iconic dance moves, Hrithik says, “I have idolised Michael Jackson since the time I first grooved to a dance beat. I remember learning the moves through play and pause mode for hours. I love his style and energy so when Bosco and Siddharth said ‘Micheal Jackson’, at first I thought there was no way I could match up, but then I reframed his moves and did it in my own style. The song is high on glamour, scale and Katrina and I have danced our hearts out.”
Produced by Fox Star Studios, Bang Bang releases on October 2.
