AXN to premiere Madam Secretary on January 10

AXN is launching a new show, Madam Secretary, that premieres on   January 10. Actress Tea Leoni (Jurassic Park fame) who will be playing the lead in the series feels that her character in the new show Madam Secretary is similar to what she is in real life. Leoni will be seen playing the role of Elizabeth Faulkner McCord, a newly appointed Secretary of State in the series. Describing her on screen character, she said, “I liked her immediately, and appreciate her accomplishments. Both of us share a similar point of view.” Comparing herself to the character, Leoni said, “She is a little more practical and a slightly better diplomat.”
The series traces the life of Elizabeth McCord, a diplomat who is faced with complex political challenges. The series recounts her struggle and dilemma as she attempts to tackle the hostage situation, early in her career as Secretary of State and her decision to take up a challenging job which her kids find difficult to adjust in their new surroundings.
