The third installment of the Carry on Jatta series was launched with a lot of pomp and show with Aamir Khan releasing the film’s trailer in Mumbai. At the trailer launch, when Aamir was asked about his plans of appearing in a Punjabi film, the actor said, “For me, if the story is good, I’d do it. If it is in a different language and if I love it, then I’ll learn the language and do it.”

He added, “Stars back then, like Yusuf sahab (Dilip Kumar) his first language was Punjabi. Raj Kapoor too spoke in Punjabi, so it was natural for them to do Punjabi films. For us it would be a little bit of effort. For example, Punjabi is not my first language, but I would love to do it”

Previously, Aamir spoke in a Punjabi dialect in Laal Singh Chaddha where Gippy helped him with the dialogues. Gippy later told DNA that he asked the makers to re-dub the dialogues but the suggestion wasn’t taken. “My team including Rana Ranbir (actor-writer) helped them in penning Punjabi dialogues. But once I saw the rushes of the film, I suggested they should re-dub for getting the right Punjabi. They agreed with me, but they didn’t change it,” he said. Aamir’s accent in Lal Singh Chaddha was criticised by the audience and the critics.

Alongside Gippy and Sonam, Carry On Jatta 3 also stars Kavita Kaushal, Gurpreet Ghuggi, Jaswinder Bhalla, Binnu Dhillon among others.
