Pamela Anderson and Britney Spears are reportedly upset, feeling the album’s theme, visuals, and costumes borrow heavily from their iconic looks without giving proper credit.

According to a Radar Online source, Spears believes Swift borrowed elements from her 2001 Dream Within a Dream tour costume. The Cruel Summer singer debuted a new, sexier look on her album cover, rhinestone bra, fringed armbands, and bejewelled nude thong, resembling Britney’s iconic outfit. One insider said, “She even feels she should have a credit in the liner notes,” claiming she feels “ripped off.” Spears isn’t saying Swift can’t be inspired, but lifting such a specific look without acknowledgement crosses the line. “Britney worked with Bob Mackie on that outfit, it’s pop history. To see it repackaged without so much as a nod feels wrong.”

Pamela Anderson, who recently returned to Hollywood with Naked Gun, is reportedly unhappy as well. Sources claim Swift’s new era is similar to the style and vibe of Anderson’s 2024 film The Last Showgirl. From the bright orange and pink palette to the vintage Vegas aesthetic, the pop star’s album visuals mirror Anderson’s costumes in the movie. “Pamela put her heart into The Last Showgirl. The colours, the vintage Vegas feel, it’s all over Taylor’s new visuals. Pam isn’t upset by the inspiration, but she believes recognition is deserved. Credits in the liner notes for her and Britney would be the classy thing to do.”

Taylor Swift announced her new album on boyfriend Travis Kelce’s podcast New Heights. This era marks a bold step, exploring her offstage life during the Eras Tour, which she called “exuberant, electric, and vibrant.” The album reunites her with producers Max Martin and Shellback, who previously worked on Blank Space. One piece of album artwork shows Swift in a bathtub, but she says it represents her end-of-show routine, not just a sexy photoshoot.

Swift, who began dating Kelce in 2023, calls him “the good kind of crazy” and “the luckiest guy in the world.” Insider claimed that Swift is aware that she is maturing and “trusts that her fans will follow her through all parts of her personality, but she won’t be doing anything too explicit.”
