Month after Amaal Mallik cuts ties with family, music composer features in brother Armaan Malik’s photos from his registered marriage

In March, Amaal had announced breaking all ties with his family and blamed his parents for the same, now his younger brother Armaan shared a photo of Amaal's happy time with the family.

In March, music composer Amaal Mallik announced cutting all ties with his family. In a long post on social media, Amaal had announced being in depression and blamed his parents for distancing him and his younger brother, singer Armaan Malik. Amaal had also stated in his now-deleted post that his interactions with his family would be ‘strictly professional’. Now, Amaal’s younger brother Armaan, shared some pictures from his registered marriage with Aashna Shroff from last year. In one of the photos, Amaal is also seen posing with the happy couple.

Sharing the photos, Armaan wrote, “A year since we sealed the deal.” Armaan married his girlfriend Aashna Shroff in a traditional ceremony on 28th December 2024. The couple had an intimate ceremony with with close family and friends in attendance.

In March 2025, Amaal had taken to Instagram and written that he was made to feel less by his family and was questioned over what he had done, despite cancelling all his dreams. He even blamed his parents for being the reason behind him and Armaan growing apart, which scarred him. Amaal further announced battling depression and had written, “Today I stand at a point where I have been robbed of my peace, drained emotionally & maybe financially too, but that’s the least of my concerns. What really matters is that I am clinically depressed because of these happenings. Yes, I have only myself to blame for my actions, but my self-worth has been diminished countless times by the actions of near and dear ones that stole pieces of my soul.”

He also announced that he would only have a professional relationship with them, and shared, “From now on, my interactions with my family will be strictly professional. This isn’t a decision made in anger, but one born from the necessity to heal and reclaim my life. I refuse to let the past rob me of my future any longer. I am committed to rebuilding my life, piece by piece, with honesty and strength.”

A few hours after this, Amaal had deleted the post and shared that nothing had changed between him and his brother Armaan. He had even urged people not to sensationalize the matter anymore.
