Pop star Kylie Minogue had to bow out of a charity show performance in Milan, Italy after falling ill.

The “Spinning Around” hitmaker, 47, had been due to take the stage at the Bocelli and Zanetti Night, a joint fundraiser held by opera icon Andrea Bocelli and retired Argentinian soccer star Javier Zanetti, but she had to cancel her performance hours before showtime.

Taking to Twitter, she told fans, “Ciao Milan! I was to perform this evening at the ‘Bocelli & Zanetti Night’ but have been advised to be on voice rest after fighting a bad cold.

“I was hoping to be much better by now and am so disappointed I can’t take to the stage, but I’ll still be attending to lend my full support to the wonderful charities that will benefit from this concert”.

As promised, newly-engaged Minogue hit the red carpet at the Expo Open Air Theatre in Milan wearing a bold flowery dress and heavy make-up, finishing off her look with bright red lipstick.
