ASTRO member Moonbin‘s death has shook the Korean entertainment industry, with several of its Idols postponing their promotional tours and shows to show their respect for the late artiste. Moonbin was found dead at his Seoul apartment on Wednesday night by his manager. He was only 25.

While his death is still being investigated, police suspect suicide and have already ruled out foul play.

While Mnet’s M! Countdown and KBS2’s Music Bank will go ahead with their shows as previously planned, things will be conducted on a more somber note owing to the situation, according to a allkpop report. The broadcasts will air a message of support and tribute for Moonbin and those performing will reportedly be asked to wear black attires.

On the other hand, music groups such as iKON, Xdinary Heroes, Xikers, and The Wind have shared that they will not share any teasers or promotional material for their band for sometime. One of the biggest K-Pop stars and actor IU has also apparently asked for delaying her scheduled interviews for the upcoming big-ticket release Dream.

Moonbin’s sibling and Idol from the girl group Billlie, Moon Sua, has been announced as the chief mourner during her elder brother’s wake as ASTRO’s agency confirmed that Jinjin and Sanha were the first to arrive at the site upon hearing the unfortunate news, and MJ took an emergency leave from his military training period to be there for the family. Cha Eun Woo is flying into Seoul on Thursday to attend the final rites of Moonbin on April 20.

Apart from celebrities, distraught fans shared messages of condolences on social media as one wrote, “Rest in love, fly high, Moonbin.” Another commented, “Final chapter and finally, the moon meets the star.” One user mentioned, “I remember I saw this charming guy dancing with his sister on a special stage and it was too adorable, really made my day. ❤️I can’t believe he’s too young to leave this world. 😢Rest in Peace Moonbin🙏.”
