Prithviraj shares note after surgery: ‘It’s rest and physiotherapy for a couple of months’
A keyhole surgery was done on Prithviraj's leg after the accident, and he has been asked to take rest for a few months.
Prithviraj in Kaapa. We earlier reported that Malayalam star Prithviraj Sukumaran suffered a leg injury on the sets of Vilayath Buddha. Now, the actor has confirmed the same in an Instagram post. A keyhole surgery was performed on the actor’s leg and he is currently recovering from the injury.
In the post on Instagram, Prithviraj wrote, “So, yes. I had an accident while shooting an action sequence for Vilayath Buddha. Fortunately, I am in the good hands of experts who performed a keyhole surgery and I am now recouping.” Prithviraj further said that he has been asked to rest for a few months and undergo physiotherapy to fully recover from the accident. The Malayalam star added that he will try to use the time productively and thanked people for their love and concern.

According to the film’s director Jayan Nambiar, Prithviraj suffered the injury while deboarding a bus. He was rushed to the hospital immediately. Jayan added, “The doctors advised that it is better to perform the surgery and told Prithviraj to take rest for six weeks. This happened while only one day’s shoot was left. However, since Prithviraj is inevitable for the scenes left to be shot, we have decided to pause the filming till he is back.”
Other than Prithviraj, Vilayath Buddha also stars Anu Mohan and Priyamvada Krishnan.
