Prithviraj says Aadujeevitham is one film he will ‘proudly show my daughter’ as she hasn’t seen any of his previous works

Actor Prithviraj Sukumaran recently said that the experience of Aadujeevitham will impact him more as a human being than as an actor, director or producer.

One of the most anticipated Indian films of the year, director Blessy’s Aadujeevitham (The Goat Life), starring Prithviraj Sukumaran in the lead role, is gearing up for its worldwide release on March 28 and its promotional materials are fuelling excitement among movie lovers.

A day after the film’s grand audio launch in Kochi, where composer AR Rahman introduced Aadujeevitham’s tracks and BGM to the world, the movie’s team addressed the media on Monday, sharing more about the mammoth project.

Speaking at the event, Prithviraj expressed his elation that the film was finally coming out, six years after its production began. The movie’s shoot had faced multiple hurdles, especially due to the Covid situation and subsequent lockdowns worldwide.

Prithviraj said, “It’s a surreal experience. Whenever I’ve attended press meets in the past decade to promote my other films, I’ve inevitably been asked about the progress of Aadujeevitham. Now that I’m finally promoting this film, it feels surreal. Blessy and I dreamed for years of starting this project, and later, when production began, we hoped to have it. Now, as it gears up for release, I couldn’t be happier.”

Reflecting on the journey, the actor remarked, “When we began filming, I wasn’t a director, I was relatively new as an actor, and I wasn’t yet a father or husband. Much has changed in my life during this film’s journey. However, the experience of Aadujeevitham, I believe, will impact me more as a human being than as an actor, director or producer. It will influence my acting style and how I perceive cinema and life moving forward.”

Prithviraj, who had previously mentioned not showing his movies to his nine-year-old daughter Alankrita because she, being young, “would only see her father on the screen and not an actor,” shared that she associates Aadujeevitham with the time her father grew a long beard. “I don’t know if this is a film I’d want her to see. Nonetheless, this is one film that, at some point, I will proudly show her. And someday, if my daughter asks me what being an actor means, Aadujeevitham will be the first film I show her.”
