Malayalam filmmaker Prakash Koleri found dead at his home in Wayanad
While Prakash Koleri's first directorial venture Mizhiyithalil Kanneerumayi starred renowned actors Murali and Asha Jayaram, the 1993 film Avan Ananthapadmanabhan was his most renowned work.

Malayalam film director Prakash Koleri, who entered the industry in 1987 by helming the movie Mizhiyithalil Kanneerumayi, was reportedly found dead at his home in Wayanad district, Kerala, on Tuesday. He was 65.
According to reports, Koleri lived alone at his house and hadn’t been seen outside for two days, arousing suspicion among neighbours and relatives. They eventually broke into his home, only to find him dead.
As per Media One, Koleri studied acting as an elective subject at the Southern Film Institute, Thiruvananthapuram.
While his first directorial venture Mizhiyithalil Kanneerumayi starred renowned actors Murali and Asha Jayaram, the 1993 film Avan Ananthapadmanabhan was his most renowned work. The film boasted an ensemble cast comprising Kannada actor-director Ramesh Aravind, Sudha Chandran, MG Soman, Mathu, Rajan P Dev and TG Ravi, among others.
After helming Varum Varathirikkilla in 1999, Koleri took a long break and returned to cinema only after 14 years with the movie Paattupusthakam, which marked his final work as a director. He himself penned the stories and scripts for all movies.
The Kenichira police have initiated an inquiry into the incident, reports stated.
