Lokah trailer: Kalyani Priyadarshan rises as a fierce superhero in Dulquer Salmaan’s production

Meanwhile, a menacing and misogynistic cop, Inspector Nachiyappa Gowda, played by Sandy, begins to doubt Chandra. He categorises women into two extremes — the good ones and the sluts. Soon, Chandra can no longer keep a low profile when a boy accuses her of beating him badly. The following sequences show Kalyani in high-octane action scenes, revealing her paranormal powers as she is seen flying. The teaser also connects Kalyani’s story to a primitive tale where a woman, a man, and a child are seen living in a cave. At one point, she says, “Do you know how many of these myths and legends are real?” Shanti Balachandran and Sharafudheen also play key roles in the film.

Written and directed by Tharangam filmmaker Dominic Arun, Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra is billed as a fantasy entertainer. The film’s technical crew includes cinematographer Nimish Ravi, editor Chaman Chakko, composer Jakes Bejoy, National Award-winning production designer Banglan, and action choreographer Yannick Ben, known for his work on projects like The Family Man and Jawan.

Produced by Dulquer Salmaan’s Wayfarer Films, Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra will release in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi on August 28.
