Not Ram Charan or Jr NTR, Lauren Gottlieb will be performing to ‘Naatu Naatu’ at the Oscars
Jr NTR had recently responded to rumours that he, along with Ram Charan, would be performing on the Oscars stage to the tunes of "Naatu Naatu".

American actor and dancer Lauren Gottlieb, who rose to fame on the Indian television scene after her stint on the sixth season of the dance reality show Jhalak Dikhlaa Jaa, has announced that she’ll be performing to “Naatu Naatu” at the Oscars. The 95th Academy Awards will be held on March 13, India time. “Naatu Naatu,” from the film RRR, has been nominated in the Best Original Song category. Earlier, there were rumours that RRR stars Ram Charan and Jr NTR will be dancing to the song at the ceremony.
Taking to Instagram, Lauren shared a picture of herself with the Hollywood Sign in the background, and wrote, “SPECIAL NEWS!!! 🔥 I’m performing on ‘Naatu Naatu’ at the OSCARS!!!!!! I’m beyond excited to represent India on the most prestigious stage in the world. Wish me luck!!! 🙏🏽💕💕💕 .”
Responding to Lauren’s post, her friends from Bollywood cheered for her. Vishal Dadlani took to the comments section, and wrote, “Whoa @laurengottlieb ! That’s big! 🤘🏽🤘🏽,” Meiyang Chang wrote, “Wooohoooooooooooo 🔥🔥🔥 Go Lauren.” Her fans also wrote words of appreciation for her. One comment read, “Yay!!! We’re so excited for you @laurengottlieb! I can’t wait to see your performance. Love seeing your beautiful face on Instagram again too. ♥️,” while another comment read, “WHAT!! No way!! Yesss Lauren huge congrats!! You don’t need luck, know you’ll smash it!! I am now excited for the Oscars.”
Apart from participating in the sixth season of the popular reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Ja, Lauren also acted in the 2013 film ABCD: Any Body Can Dance.
Before Lauren made the announcement that she’ll be dancing at the 95th Academy Awards, fans were demanding a performance by Jr NTR and Ram Charan. However, Jr NTR recently cleared the air. Speaking with KTLA, he said, “I don’t think that’s happening. I was looking forward for it to happen. But, unfortunately, we didn’t have time to rehearse. Because we don’t want to go on to the biggest stage in the world and go unprepared. So, we were busy, I was busy and so was maybe Charan busy with a lot of prior commitments back home. So, I don’t think we will be performing but our music director (MM) Keeravani, the singers of the song Rahul (Sipligunj), and my brother (Kaala) Bhairava, they will be performing the song. I think it will be nice for me to sit in the audience and watch the song because the moment I watch that clip, my legs have started aching all over again.”
“Naatu Naatu” from SS Rajamouli’s RRR has been composed by MM Keeravani. The film became a rage in the US after debuting on Netflix, leading to a successful awards run, and a recent theatrical re-release.
