The tables have turned in the latest installment of Planet of The Apes franchise as humans are facing extinction, while the apes have taken over the world. The hunter has become the hunted in Kingdom of The Planet of The Apes, the fourth film of Planet of The Apes series, directed by Wes Ball. The movie has Owen Teague, Freya Allan, Kevin Durand, Peter Macon, and William H. Macy in important roles.

The official synopsis of the film reads, “As a new tyrannical ape leader builds his empire, one young ape undertakes a harrowing journey that will cause him to question all that he has known about the past and to make choices that will define a future for apes and humans alike.”

The Planet of The Apes film franchise started way back in the ’60s, based on the novel by Pierre Boulle. Later it was revived in 2011 with the introduction of the beloved Ceaser, who became super intelligent because of a science experiment. With the newfound consciousness, he becomes more self-aware and wants his species to live safely beyond humans’ reach.

In the subsequent parts, the fight between humans and Apes has gotten worse. In the fourth installment, things get worse as a tyrannical leader rises to put an end to the human race. However, the protagonist seems to have something powerful up his sleeve.

Kingdom of The Planet of The Apes is expected to be released on May 24, 2024.
