English song writer Ed Sheeran was drunk and had nearly missed the chance to record for the adventure-fantasy movie ‘The Hobbit: The Desolation of smaug’.

The 22-year-old singer said his brain could not “process” the email sent to him by Peter Jackson, the movie’s director as he was too drunk, reported Contactmusic.

“I was off my face drunk. There was a lot of champagne and champagne gets me drunk quite quickly. I looked at my email. It was like a dream. I didn’t process it.

“So then I put my phone away and continued partying. The next day I read it again and was worried,” Sheeran said.

Six months later, after a few recordings and meeting sessions,Sheeran was called to be part of end-credit of the movie which features the song ‘I See Fire’ scored by him.
