The trailer of the upcoming film Barbie is out. Featuring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling as Barbie and Ken, the trailer delves into the enchanting world of Barbieland. Helmed by Greta Gerwig, the movie will be released on July 21, 2023.

In the trailer, Barbie and Ken venture out of Barbieland to explore the real world. Unfortunately, things don’t go smoothly for them, and they end up in trouble, landing in prison. But look out for their adorable mugshots. Barbie and Ken are determined to discover the truth about the universe. However, the people in the real world are astonished to see Barbie existing in their reality. The question lingers: Will Barbie find her place in the real world, or will she be forced to return to Barbieland?

The synopsis of the film reads, “To live in Barbieland is to be a perfect being in a perfect place. Unless you have a full-on existential crisis. Or you’re a Ken.”

Margot had recently opened up about the controversy surrounding the sexualization of Barbie. In an interview with Vogue, she said, “She’s a doll. She’s a plastic doll. She doesn’t have organs. If she doesn’t have organs, she doesn’t have reproductive organs. If she doesn’t have reproductive organs, would she even feel sexual desire? No, I don’t think she could.”
