Top judge to reject Madonna’s adoption plea: report
Madonna may be praying for a positive ruling in Mercy James adoption case but reports suggest that the verdict will disappoint her.
Madonna may be praying for a positive ruling in Mercy James adoption case on Monday but reports suggest that the verdict has already been set against the star.
The country’s top judge,Lovemore Munlo, will dismiss Madonna’s case when he heads a review panel on Monday, the Mirror reported online quoting sources in the Supreme Court.
Monday’s hearing is Madonna’s last hope in adopting Mercy,4,her second child from the African nation, after her adoption plea was turned down by a local court last month.
“Munlo is no fool and is keen to show that Malawi law is not to be messed with. It is certain this case will be thrown out when it is heard by the learned judge,” a source said.
In a further blow to the superstar,Mercy’s biological father, security guard James Kambewa,24,is trying hard to get the custody of his daughter. He reportedly met Mercy’s maternal family for the same.
“My family has met Mercy’s family and we all agree we love the girl. She deserves the best we can give. Whatever has happened,we should be allowed to raise our daughter as we wish,” Kambewa said.
He hopes to fight the pop star together with his extended family to have Mercy back.
“Everyone was emotional when the two families met but we both want the best for Mercy and I am sure she should be with us and not Madonna,” Kambewa added.
