Slumdog jumps to No.1 at UK box office post Oscars
Slumdog Millionaire has jumped from number three to the number one spot at the UK box office.
Slumdog Millionaire has jumped from number three to the number one spot at the UK box office on the back of its eight-awards success at the Oscars last month.
Animated feature Bolt,which was the chart-topper last week,dropped down to number four.
According to the BBC,Clint Eastwood’s racial drama Gran Torino was in second place.
The third spot was claimed by a new entry,horror film The Unborn,which made just over 1.3millon pounds.
Wrapping up the top five was Confessions of a Shopaholic.
UK and Irelands top five films:
1.Slumdog Millionaire – 1.7million pounds
2.Gran Torino – 1.35million pounds
3.The Unborn – 1.3million pounds
4.Bolt – 1.29million pounds
5.Confessions of a Shopaholic – 1.29million pounds.
