No Ordinary Family

No Ordinary Family is a story about a disjointed family,which consists of a father – James Powell,a mother – Stephanie Powell,their 16 year- old daughter – Daphne Powell and a 14 year-old son who they call JJ. The bonding and the love among the family is missing as there is hardly any time that the four of them come together,sit and have a discussion with each other. Each one of them is busy with their individual lives and live in their very own world.

The only person in the house who wishes for his family to bond together is the man of the house,James Powell. The story goes for a toss when one fine day,the Powells decide to go on a family trip to Brazil. On their way they have a plane crash and of James’ dream,to have a family getaway crashes as they all survive and come back home.

This is where the exciting journey of the Powells begins. After the crash,each member of the family witnesses changes within them as they are blessed with some amazing supernatural powers. James becomes super-strong and can leap over tall buildings. Stephaine gets super speed as she can run 10 miles in just five seconds. Daphne gets the power of telepathy as she can read people’s minds and JJ gets the ability to speed-read and comprehend large amount of information in few seconds. So this ordinary family now becomes an extraordinary family with their super natural powers.

Once blessed with the powers,the family,as the days unfold,gets to know more and more things that they can do with their existing powers. Also,after the accident,one can notice the change in the attitude of the family. The husband and wife fall in love once again,and start caring for each other. Stephaine’s constant research to figure out the reason for developing such powers,the reactions of the people around who would one day come to know about their powers,till when the powers would last and many other such aspect will grab and keep your attention.

While the family is busy exploring their powers and sharing a good bonding time; their life turns into a nightmare as they are introduced by the villain of the show. But this idea of having a villain is the show makes it a bit monotonous. Also,this villain is a family of bad humans who constantly tries to play tough with this family and make their life miserable. This battle makes the show lame,and this good versus evil just makes it feel repetitive.

This show has actually a dose for all,a guy who likes to watch sci-fi,a girl who can connect with Daphne keeping in mind her high-school drama,a school kid would like to watch JJ,a 14 year old who struggles with studies at school,a mom who tries to reconnect by taking some time out for her family from her hectic busy schedule and a dad who tries to be a hero in the eyes of his family.
