Bollywood actress Mallika Sherawat's brother Vikram Lamba has been booked after he accidentally fired a bullet while cleaning his licensed firearm,injuring a 25-year-old man in suburban Versova,police said on Tuesday. The incident occurred on Sunday morning,when Lamba was cleaning his pistol at his office,located on the seventh floor in Bhaktani tower. Rahul Bhatt,son of film-maker Mahesh Bhatt,was also present in the office when Lamba accidentally fired the weapon,they said. Vikram has been booked under section 336 of IPC (Act endangering life or personal safety of others) and 337 (causing hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others), Additional Police Commissioner Vishwas Nangre Patil said. According to police,Lamba and Bhatt were in the former's office,when Lamba started cleaning his pistol. Accidentally,a bullet was shot,which hit the corridor of Central Institute of Fisheries Education. Then shards of shattered wall pierced into his body,causing injury, Patil added. Bhatt has recently sought a firearm licence citing a threat to life. His application is pending with the police. Police recorded the statement of Lamba.
