Lootera takes the box office by storm,collects Rs 19 cr in first weekend

On the day of its release,Vikramaditya Motwane's love story,collected Rs 5.15 crore.

After having garnered much praise and acclaim from Bollywood,the Ranveer Singh-Sonakshi Sinha starrer,Lootera has managed to impress critics as well as fans.

Taran Adarsh tweeted the film’s weekend collection.

Adapted from O’Henry’s short story,The Last Leaf,Lootera appears to be fairly disappointing in comparison to Vikramaditya’s first directorial venture,Udaan.

Lead stars Sonakshi and Ranveer,who play Pakhi and Varun in the 1950s romantic story,show love and longing for each other. However,according to Indian Express’ critic Shubhra Gupta,it’s Sonakshi that seems to have won hearts in the film.

Though the film,opened to a slow start,it has picked up over the weekend.

The movie was released last Friday.
