Kolkata produces the best of Indian cinema and is an important cultural and literary centre in the country,says Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan.
I really believe in the cinema of Bengal. We have some of the best cinema coming in from this part of the country, said Khan.
It is a very important city from the point of culture. It has also produced some of the best literature in the country, said the 46-year-old SRK who is here to inaugurate the Kolkata Film Festival.
Veteran Bengali actress Sharmila Tagore will be joining him at the inauguration ceremony at Netaji Indoor Stadium for the eight-day film festival where 150 films from 50 countries will be screened.
