Actress Kate Winslet has said that she feels 'fat and unhappy'.

Actress Kate Winslet has said that she feels ‘fat and unhappy’ next to other Hollywood actresses.

Winslet who now boasts of a svelte admitted that she still feels feels self-conscious about her figure.

“As a young girl,I never felt attractive. I was fat and unhappy at times and that kind of thinking stays with you your entire life. There’s always going to be a part of me that worries about not looking as slim as other actresses,” she told ‘Daily Mail’.

Winslet who was always a chubby child struggled desperately with her weight in the past.

The 33-year-old actress who won two Globes,Best Actress for ‘The Revolutionary Road’ and Best Supporting actress for ‘The Reader’ said that she wanted to look as thin as her contemporaries.

The ‘Titanic’ star last week received her sixth Oscar nomination for her role in ‘The Reader’.

“At a certain point,when you achieve a lot of your goals and you can be proud of your work,you start to relax more about who you are. And that includes your appearance and self-image – I don’t think I look too bad for a mother of two,” she told the newspaper.

However,Winslet said that she does not believe in crash diets or grueling gym sessions.
