Filmy Friday: Himmatvala releases today

Sajid Khan told PTI in an interview that he prefers to call his film as a “rewrite” and not a “remake” in general sense of the word.

“Himmatwala is one of my top five favourite Bollywood films. I am very fortunate that my name is associated with the movie. The film is a rewrite,and not a remake,based on the original film. The essence of the original film is there in my version,but my treatment is completely different”,he had said.

Sajid has also made a few changes in the original avatar of Himmatwala,but says he also carried forward the boisterous melodrama typical of 1980s in the new version.

Ajay and Tammannaah will be dancing to the latest versions of hit songs Taaki O Taaki and Naino Mein Sapna.

The movie also has item song Thank God It’s Friday by Sonakshi Sinha along with another one,which has not one or two but five item girls.

Sajid said he wanted to recreate the magic of 80s on silver screen again and hence decided to make this film.

Sajid has hits like Heyy Babyy,Housefull and Housefull 2 to his credit.

Let’s see if this Himmatvala is able to create its magic.
