Darshan moves Sessions Court seeking bail

Kannada actor Darshan has been arrested for allegedly assaulting and threatening his wife, actress Vijayalakshmi.

Popular Kannada actor Darshan, arrested for allegedly assaulting and threatening his wife Vijayalakshmi,on Wednesday filed bail application before a Sessions Court in Bangalore.

First Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Venkatesh Hulagi had on Tuesday rejected his bail plea stating that he did not have jurisdiction to handle the case filed under IPC Section 307 (attempt to murder).

Darshan’s attempts to secure bail suffered a setback despite his wife retracting her statement in the court on Monday of sustaining head injuries during a fall in bathroom. This ran contrary to her allegations in a police complaint on September 8 that he had assaulted and threatened her with a revolver.
