Bhaag Milkha Bhaag hits screens today

Farhan Akhtar has left no stone unturned in preparation for his role in <i>Bhaag Milkha Bhaag</i>.

Farhan Akhtar’s Bhaag Milkha Bhaag,which has already got a thumbs up from the film freaternity finally hits screens today.

Directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra of Delhi 6,Bhaag Milkha Bhaag is a biopic on the life of Legendary Indian sprinter Milkha Singh,who earned the nickname of Flying Sikh.

Farhan Akhtar has left no stone unturned in preparation for his role.

The actor,who has directed movies like Don,Dil chahta Hai,says he is honoured to have played the former athlete and poured his entire heart and soul to get into shape for the film.

Bhaag Milkha Bhaag also features Raanjhanaa actress Sonam Kapoor,who has a cameo in the movie as Farhan’s love interest.

Though it is a small appearance,the actress revealed that hers is a pivotal role and she felt proud to be a part of the project.

The film also stars actress Divya Dutta as Isra Kaur,Milkha’s sister and Meesha Shafi.

Director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra maintains that the film is not solely about sports,but tells the tale of a boy who lost his parents at a young age during the partition and how he overcomes this tragedy through great perseverance and becomes an athlete.

Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra also said Bhaag Milkha Bhaag is a life defining film for him.

Mehra said that he was lucky that he was selected by Milkha to make the film. On being asked was he comfortable working with Farhan,Mehra said Farhan made my job easy.

Apart from promoting the film in major cities in India,the Bhaag Milkha Bhaag team recently premiered the movie in London,which was also attended by Milkha Singh himself.

Milkha Singh had also unveiled the trailer of the film in Mumbai,which left the entire team teary eyed at his inspirational words.
