Zeenat Aman calls Dharmendra her ‘favourite co-star’, recalls how they helped each other with language on Shalimar shoot
In a latest Instagram post, Zeenat Aman wrote a sweet note for Dharmendra, who she called her favourite co-star. She also shared some interesting stories from their time together.

Zeenat Aman has once again shared a heartening social media post leaving her followers smiling. This time, it’s Rocky Aur Rani actor Dharmendra who became the central character of the anecdotal post.
Zeenat Aman shared that while she has worked with many actors, ‘Dharam ji’ was her favourite. Calling him handsome, she added, “but more importantly he was a down to earth gentleman. There were no pretences or airs about him, and that made me feel most comfortable on set.”
The yesteryear actor penned how they worked in a number of films including the international heist Shalimar. Given the film was simultaneously shot in English and Hindi to cater to both audiences, the actors helped each other with the language. “Well, Dharm ji required assistance with his English dialogues and I required help with my Hindi. And so, post the daily shoot you would find each of us with our respective tutors, studiously running our lines for hours.”
She shared two photos with Dharmendra and gave insights about them. “The first picture here is from the song Saare Bazaar Karenge Pyar from the film Kaatilon Ke Kaatil. It’s an excellent number, with a full-fledged gender role reversal! I posted this image first because I think people should have the right to dress as they please, without being threatened or assaulted. Perhaps the picturization of the song was meant to be comical, but its message is clear-” दिखा दे हम मोहब्बत में है कितना दुनिया मानेगी मनेगी मानेगी मोहब्बत ऐसे होती है,” Zeenat Aman wrote.

In the next picture, the two actors looked ready to shoot a dance number, and she informed that it was from the shoot of Jagir. “I chose it because our look was sizzling in this number. I had on a glittering silver jumpsuit and Dharm ji had a matching one in black leather! The song is called Naya Naya Hota Hain Purana Purana, which could be quite a good heading for an essay about my Instagram debut!” the Don actor signed off.
Dharmendra recently starred in Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahaani. In the romantic comedy-drama, Dharmendra and Shabana Azmi’s characters have a romantic track that runs parallel to Rocky and Rani’s central love story. The movie gained attention for a scene in which Dharmendra and Shabana share a brief kiss. Dharmendra was asked about this at the success press meet of the film, and he came up with an answer that made the audience laugh.
“Dharam ji, you should go to the halls just to watch the audience’s reaction to ‘woh wala scene’,” Ranveer prompted. Dharmendra replied, “Unfortunately, I couldn’t attend the premiere, but I’ve received a lot of messages from people. Maine bola, ‘Yaar, yeh toh mere daaye haath ka kaam hai (I can do this in my sleep).” As the audience hooted and hollered, and both Ranveer and Alia laughed, Dharmendra continued, “Baaye haath se karwana hai, woh bhi karwa lo.”
