Zayed Khan says Sanjay Khan will give him cough syrup so he’ll sleep, not sneak into Feroz Khan’s parties: ‘Seemed pretty normal to us’
Zayed Khan, actor and son of Sanjay Khan, opened up about his father and uncle Feroz Khan’s larger-than-life lifestyle. He called them 'dudes and alpha men'.

Brothers and actors Sanjay Khan and Feroz Khan were not only popular among fans for their work in the film industry but also for their very glamorous personal lives. Known for throwing lavish parties and living life ‘king size,’ the two were icons of style and charisma. In a recent interaction, Zayed Khan, actor and son of Sanjay Khan, opened up about his father and uncle’s larger-than-life lifestyle and how his dad ensured he didn’t sneak into their parties..
Talking to Vickey Lalwani about Sanjay and Feroz Khan, Zayed said, “These were the people who were made out of such different circumstances that they became alpha man. Today, I see lot of alpha boys but very few alpha men.”
When asked about the rumours of Feroz Khan living a king-sized life — such as sitting in a swimming pool with a glass of wine and a bikini-clad woman in his bungalow — Zayed responded, “Of course, we have seen James Bond in real life. The kind of lifestyle these people (Sanjay and Feroz Khan) used to live and the kind of celebration that they used to have.”
Recalling his childhood memories of his father and uncle’s parties, Zayed said, “We used to think ‘where are we?’ I don’t think many kids experience what we experienced growing up. It seemed pretty normal to us when we were growing up. But when you reflect back, you realise that these guys were dudes. They were kings of the hill. Everything started and ended with their sentence. When they say let’s have a drink, but you say it’s day now, and it doesn’t matter.”
Pointing out the living room of his house, Zayed said, “At this sofa alone, there would be Presidents to Prime Ministers to cricketers, politicians, actors, actresses. This sofa alone has a history of 70 years, I have grown up seeing heads of state, industry superstars and all together.”
Recalling how he would try to sneak into his father’s parties, Zayed shared, “We used to be 9-8 years old and we used to get dressed up and try to sneak into the party and I remember he would say give him Benadryl and make him sleep.”
Zayed Khan also admitted that while in many households drinking is frowned upon, that wasn’t the case in his. He explained, “Having a drink was considered normal and cool when we grew up, we didn’t consider it to be outlandish. Lot of places don’t consider drinking normal.” He added, “I don’t have any complaints, they are such good parents. For all their mistakes and flaws, their love was much greater.” When asked when he had his first drink, Zayed embarrassingly responded, “Oops, at the time I shouldn’t have.”
