Age is truly just a number for Vyjayanthimala, who can dance her way to prove that. A video of the veteran actor has surfaced online, where she can be seen doing Bharat Natyam on her 90th birthday.

Vyjayanthimala dominated the 50s and 60s with her films like Nagin, Devdas, Sadhna, Sargam and Ganga Jamuna among others. In a video posted on Reddit, the veteran was seen putting a four-minute performance of Bharat Natyam for an intimate gathering of guests.

Fans of the actor were bowled over by her performance, with many marveling how the veteran pulled off the dance at 90. ” The mudras, the stance! The grace.” When a user asked if she was indeed 90-year-old, another joked, “Yes. Typing this as my back hurts in my late 20s.”

Vyjayanthimala is considered as the first female superstar of Indian cinema. The actor, who made her debut aged thirteen with the 1949 Tamil film Vaazhkai, transitioned to Hindi films two years later with Bahar. Her big breakthrough, however, came with the mega success of her 1954 romantic film Nagin.

The actor was awarded the Padma Shri in 1968 and retired from acting two years later after the release of her drama Ganwaar, co-starring Rajendra Kumar and Praan.
