Vikrant Massey ignores questions about early retirement from films at The Sabarmati Report screening in Parliament premises

Bollywood actor Vikrant Massey made his first public appearance on Monday, just hours after announcing retirement from movies.

Vikrant Massey, who shocked his fans and followers earlier today with his sudden decision to quit films after 2025, attended the screening of The Sabarmati Report at the Balayogi Auditorium in the Parliament premises on Monday evening. This was the actor’s first public appearance after his announcement of quitting movies. After watching the movie with PM Modi, Massey expressed his happiness without talking about his decision to quit films.

Speaking to reporters, Vikrant Massey said, “Personally, getting the opportunity to watch The Sabarmati Report with the Prime Minister of our country is the highest point in my career.” When asked about his decision to quit acting, the actor walked away without addressing the question.

After delivering several critically acclaimed films like 12th Fail, Sector 36, among others, Vikrant Massey announced his retirement from films in an Instagram post on Monday. The actor wrote, “The last few years and beyond have been phenomenal. I thank each and everyone of you for your indelible support. But as I move forward, I realise it’s time to recalibrate and go back home, as a husband, father, a son and also as an actor.”

He further wrote, “So coming 2025, we would meet each other for one last time Until time deems right. Last 2 movies and many a years of memories. Thank you again. For everything and everything in between.”

Vikrant’s latest film, The Sabarmati Report, is based on the alleged burning of S-6 coach of Sabarmati Express on February 27, 2002, in Godhra. The movie has been made tax-free in several states, including Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Haryana.
