Vicky Kaushal reveals his first-ever meeting with wife Katrina Kaif at SCREEN awards: ‘Didn’t know that she would know me’

Speaking to Pinkvilla the actor said, “So I was hosting, and this I think was the first time. First time I ever met her and interacted with her. So, stage pe toh obviously matlab yeh jo kaan mein laga hota hai, yeh humesha aapko peeche se bolte rehte hain ki achha yeh waali, yeh aise karo waise karo, they keep guiding you and it’s always scripted and everything. But, behind the stage it was the first time we introduced to each other formally. Yeah, so… Who knew!”

When asked if he was nervous to meet her, the actor denied. He said with a smile, “No, why will I be nervous? She was extremely sweet. I didn’t know that she would be knowing me, but she was extremely sweet.”

Previously, speaking with Raj Shamani, Vicky shared the same answer. He said, “We met at an award. I was hosting the event. We met backstage before appearing on the stage. That was the first time I introduced myself to her and she introduced herself to me.”

He added, “First few times, nothing was planned ki hum milne ka plan kar rahe hain ya hum baat kar rahe hain (Initially we didn’t plan our meetings). The first time we ever spoke to each other was a part of an interview while the cameras were rolling. Of course, we had each other’s number and we would randomly bump into each other. Aisa kuch nahin tha. I think, some things are just meant to happen. Sometimes you realise that it is happening against all odds and that’s how it happened. After a point we stopped questioning and analysing it, and became committed to it.”
