Veteran actor Prem Chopra hospitalised

Prem Chopra was admitted to Lilavati Hospital on Saturday due to a viral infection and age-related complications. On Monday, his doctor said that the actor is recovering well.

Veteran actor Prem Chopra, best known for his villainous roles, has been admitted to Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai. He is 92 years old.

The actor was admitted on Saturday due to a viral infection and age-related complications. On Monday, his doctor said that the actor is recovering well.

Dr Jalil Parkar of Lilavati Hospital told PTI, ““He is a known case of cardiac ailment and he also had a viral infection, and that’s why I’m treating him for the lungs. He is not in the ICU; he is in the ward.”

The doctor added, “He is 92 years old and he has age-related issues because of which his recovery takes a little time. He should be fine in another three-four days and go home.”

Prem Chopra’s son-in-law, actor Vikas Bhalla, earlier told SCREEN that it was only a routine check-up and that the veteran actor is doing fine. “He is fine. It is a regular check-up,” said Vikas.

One of the most celebrated antagonists in Bollywood history, Prem Chopra has appeared in about 400 films. His notable movies include Upkar (1967), Do Raaste (1969), Purab Aur Paschim (1970), Kati Patang (1971), Bobby (1973), Do Anjaane (1976), and Kranti (1981), among others. His last big screen outing was the Ranbir Kapoor-starrer Animal (2023).
