Actor Utkarsh Sharma, who is garnering praise for his performance in the blockbuster Gadar 2, was a 10-year-old child when he played the role of Jeete, Tara Singh (Sunny Deol) and Sakeena’s (Ameesha Patel) son, in the 2001 film Gadar: Ek Prem Katha. The actor recently recalled how shooting for the first film was more difficult, as they had no proper safety measures for the action sequences. So, the only two options were getting a “good shot or death”.
In a new interview, Utkarsh described his experience of working on Gadar as traumatic. He told Bollywood Hungama, “I have been made to do such things in the film that I don’t think I have done any such thing in Gadar 2. Today, when you perform stunts, you have the support of a cable, you have safety and everything, and you are also well aware of how to avoid injuries. But at that time, everything was more raw.”
He also revealed that the team of Gadar completed the night shoots in extreme weather, going without sleep for 72 hours. “That time the difficulties we had to face were extreme,” Utkarsh said, adding that he didn’t tell any of his friends in school about playing Jeete in Gadar.
Gadar 2 is emerging as one of the top Bollywood earners at the box office. The film has already earned Rs 375.10 crore, and will soon cross the Rs 400 crore mark.
