Twinkle Khanna reveals why she calls sister Rinke Khanna before she starts reading a book: ‘She is my book buddy’

Twinkle Khanna on Tuesday shared a sweet note for her ‘book buddy’, her sister Rinke Khanna. Sharing a video, the actor-turned-writer revealed that she always calls her sister before she starts reading a book. Twinkle shared that since Rinke reads more than her, her sister’s reassurance helps her make the right choice.

“I often call my sister before I start a new book. She reads more than me and I suspect faster as well. If she says it’s great then I feel reassured,” Twinkle wrote on Instagram. The actor added that aside from science-fiction, which she loves and Rinke ‘can’t bear’, they tend to read similar books.

“We also talk about books a lot:) Writers sometimes write about the things they can’t say to the people around them unless they are gift-wrapped in the form of fiction. We are not demonstrative. My sister and I. Hugs are given gingerly and jibes are our version of kisses. Yet within most of the stories I write, a pair of devoted sisters always stare back at me from a stack of printed pages,” Twinkle added.

The Mela actor concluded by saying that apart from being her secret keeper, her sister Rinke is also her ‘book buddy’. She also asked fans to tag their book buddy in the comments section.

Rinke Khanna made her debut with Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi. She went on to star in films like Jis Desh Mein Ganga Rehta Hai and Yeh Hai Jalwa. Twinkle Khanna also worked in films briefly, before becoming an entrepreneur and author. She is married to Akshay Kumar and they are parents to two children – son Aarav and daughter Nitara.
