Triptii Dimri’s Animal co-star Saurabh Sachdeva on her recent ‘failures’: ‘Sachin Tendulkar bhi zero pe out hota hai’

Actor Triptii Dimri had a couple of acclaimed performances under her belt already before she broke out in the mainstream with the film Animal. Her co-star, Saurabh Sachdeva, spoke about her recent 'failures' as an actor.

Actor Saurabh Sachdeva, who worked with Triptii Dimri in the films Animal and Dhadak 2, spoke about her evolution and perceived ‘failures’ in recent times. Saurabh, who also works as an acting coach and has trained Triptii in the past, said that falling down and getting back up again is a part of the journey, as he addressed Triptii’s choices following Animal, which helped her break out in the mainstream.

In an interview with Galatta Hindi, he was asked about Triptii’s post-Animal career, which includes films such as Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 and Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video. He said, “How will Triptii come to know if she’s a fit for such films unless she does them? She will only know once she does it, and takes the risk. An actor’s job is to take risks, we don’t do the same job every day. We experiment, and sometimes, experiments can fail. That doesn’t mean she’s a failure. I’ve failed so many times in school and at sports. But that doesn’t mean I’m a failure.”

Saurabh, who has also played roles in Sacred Games and Jaane Jaan, continued, “She might have failed, the films might have failed, her performances might have failed… But Sachin Tendulkar has also gotten out at zero. I’m not comparing them, but all I’m saying is that she is trying to take risks, which is beautiful for an artist.” Saurabh said that he was very impressed by Triptii’s vulnerability in Animal, and pointed out that she has received good reviews for Dhadak 2.

In an earlier interview with Hindustan Times, Saurabh said that Triptii’s choices haven’t been right. “I think with Triptii, her choices didn’t work well. But she is wonderful. She looks good on camera, works hard, is vulnerable and sensitive, and is nice to work with. There are no tantrums, from what I saw in the few films I have done with her. All that never changed with her. What happened was that her choices were not right. That is also something an actor needs to learn. You have to make those choices, the ones that are difficult to make,” he said. She will next be seen in Spirit, the new film directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga and starring Prabhas.
