Despite his efforts to present a youthful image through his fashion choices and by hanging out with the new gen of Bollywood stars, filmmaker Karan Johar can’t seem to shed the “uncle” label. Recently, while abroad, Karan was unexpectedly called “uncle” and that too by a social media influencer. A video of the moment has gone viral, capturing Karan’s shocked reaction and the clip is sure to leave you in stitches.

The incident took place when TikToker Zane Thadani encountered Karan Johar on the streets of London. The video begins by showing Karan taking photos with fans when Thadani is heard excitedly debating how to address him. “Oh my God, oh my God, guys, that’s Karan Johar, man! What do I call him? KJo? Karan? Karan Johar? Mr Johar? Mr Karan?” Thadani can be heard muttering to himself. “I am gonna go up to him,” he said with a smile.

In the next frame, Karan, dressed in blue and sporting sunglasses, is shown posing for a selfie with Thadani. Without hesitation, Thadani taps Karan on the shoulder and says, “Hi, uncle!” which takes the 52-year-old filmmaker by surprise and a look of shock appears on his face. “Did you just call me uncle?” Karan asks before walking away. Despite the initial shock, Karan seems to find the prank funny, as he is seen laughing in the background and seems to be in on the joke. Thadani added, “Thanks for the collab uncle,” in the video description.

Later, Karan posted Zane’s video on his Instagram story and wrote, “Was happy meeting you, Zane.” The influencer replied, “Thanks, uncle! @karanjohar,” with smiling emojis.
