The official trailer for Huma Qureshi-starrer Tarla has been released. The film dramatises the inspiring journey of food writer and celebrity home chef Tarla Dalal. Joining her in this captivating journey is The Family Man actor Sharib Hashmi, who portrays the role of Tarla's husband, Nalin. The trailer begins on a humorous note as Tarla surprises Nalin with a dish stuffed with chilis during their first-ever meeting for an arranged marriage. During their meeting, Tarla expresses her desire to do something meaningful in life. The trailer shows Tarla as an ambitious woman who struggles to find her passion for years. After 12 years of marriage, she finds her true calling in cooking and opens a home cooking class. She says, "Khud ko dhoondhne ki koi expiry date nahi hoti hai par shart ye hai ki try karte hi rehna padega (Finding your purpose in life doesn't have a time limit. But you should keep trying)." Later, we see Tarla redefining vegetarian cooking and becoming a household name in India. The trailer also reveals a glimpse of Tarla's life as a mother and a wife. Sharib as Nalin is seen supporting Tarla as she breaks shackles and rises in her career. Huma was last seen in Netflix's crime comedy, Monica, O My Darling, with Rajkummar Rao and Sikander Kher. She garnered praise for her role in the film. She was also seen in Double XL with Sonakshi Sinha. That film, however, bombed at the box office and received negative reviews. Tarla Dalal was among India's most renowned home cooks. She started cooking classes from her home in Mumbai, which became a sensation. She wrote over 100 cookbooks and hosted many cooking shows. Her books were translated in various languages including Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati and even Dutch and Russian. She was also awarded with Padma Shri in 2007 for her work in the field of cooking. With the trailer release of Tarla, it's clear that the biopic trend is here to stay in the Hindi film industry. This year, we saw the release of Rani Mukherjee-starrer Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway, which was inspired by the real-life story of an Indian couple whose children were taken away by Norwegian authorities. Last year, Taapsee Pannu portrayed the life of former Test and ODI captain of the India women's national cricket team Mithali Raj in Shabaash Mithu. However, in 2022, Sanjay Leela Bhansali took the cake in the biopic genre with the release of Alia Bhatt-starrer Gangubai Kathiawadi. Coming back to Tarla, the film is written by Gautam Ved and Piyush Gupta, who is also the director of the film. It is co-produced by Ronnie Screwvala, Nitesh Tiwari and Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari. It will be released on July 7 on ZEE5.
