Tabu teases reunion with Priyadarshan in Hera Pheri 3: ‘The cast won’t be complete without me’

After Priyadarshan asked Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, and Paresh Rawal if they are ready for Hera Pheri 3, Tabu also responded to the director expressing her excitement.

Director Priyadarshan has expressed his wish to make Hera Pheri 3 with Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, and Suniel Shetty. On his birthday, the filmmaker responded to Akshay’s post, stating he was willing to direct the film. Now, adding to the excitement, actor Tabu also reacted to the Sarfira actor’s post and teased a reunion with the OG Hera Pheri crew.

Sharing Akshay’s post on her Instagram stories, Tabu wrote, “Of course, the cast won’t be complete without me @priyadarshan.official.”

Tabu was a part of Hera Pheri’s first instalment. In Hera Pheri, Tabu played Suniel Shetty’s love interest.

The buzz about Hera Pheri 3 began after Priyadarshan hinted at Hera Pheri 3 while responding to a birthday post by Akshay. Sharing a photo from the sets of Bhoot Bangla, Akshay wrote, “Happy Birthday, Priyan Sir! What better way to celebrate than by spending the day on a haunted set, surrounded by ghosts…both real and unpaid extras? Thank you for being a mentor and the only person who can make chaos look like a masterpiece. May your day be filled with fewer retakes. Wishing you a fantastic year ahead!”

Reacting to Akshay’s wish, Priyadarshan wrote on his Instagram Stories, “Thank you so much for your wishes, Akshay Kumar. In return I would like to give you a gift, I am willing to do Hera Pheri 3, are you ready Akshay?” He also tagged Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal in the story.

The first part of Hera Pheri released in 2000, and its second instalment hit screens in 2006. Since then, fans have been waiting for a third part.

On the work front, Priyadarshan is currently working with Akshay Kumar on the horror comedy Bhoot Bangla. The film is slated to release on April 2, 2026.
