Swara announced her marriage to Fahad in February through her social media account. The couple had submitted their wedding documents in January 2023 and had a registered marriage under Special Marriage act. The actor posted a video, mapping the timeline of their relationship. According to the video, the couple met during Delhi’s CAA protests and eventually fell in love.

The couple’s wedding card was also designed keeping important elements of their wedding in mind. The card had doodles depicting CAA protests, Mumbai’s Bandstand, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge poster and their cat Ghalib.

The post was uploaded by graphic designer Prateek Kumar, who explained the sentiments of the card in the caption. She wrote, “We had the opportunity to work on the wedding invite for the fearless and fabulous @reallyswara and @fahadzirarahmad. Swara and Fahad wanted the invite to capture how they met and fell for each other during a citizen protest, their memories of Mumbai and Marine Drive, their abiding love for the movies, and of course, for their beautiful cat, Ghalib.”
